Terms & Conditions

We want Wokingham Festival to be a fun event, but to ensure that it’s fun for everybody, we need to inform you of our Terms & Conditions.

By purchasing a ticket or being present at the event in any capacity, you agree to be bound by the T&Cs below.

1. Definitions

  • Festival’ / ‘The Organisers’ / ‘We’ / ‘Our’ / ‘Us’ means the event organisers Wokingham Festival Ltd.

  • Event’ means the festival event called ‘Wokingham Festival’

  • Gate’, 'Ticket Desk' means the box office at the festival site during the event.

  • You’, ’Your’, 'Ticket holder' means the ticket holder or member of the public attending the event.

2. General

  1. Tickets are for the event and not for a specific artist or activity. The organisers reserve the right to substitute artists and all other attractions, and to change the advertised programme. This will be kept to a minimum, and we shall make every effort to keep our Website and event Schedule updated to reflect changes where possible.

  2. Ticket resale is not permitted. Tickets bought from any source other than the Festival’s official website cannot be guaranteed to be valid for the event. Do not buy tickets or goods from street traders/touts/online sources other than the official Festival website. Purchase details will be checked at the gate.

  3. All attendees will be issued with a wristband, which must be worn at all times whilst attending the festival. You are responsible for your wristband for the duration of its validity. All wristbands are sturdy enough to withstand normal showering, etc. Replacements will not be issued.

  4. Wristbands are not transferable.

  5. Anyone aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Contact number wristbands are available at the gate for small children and are strongly recommended.

  6. Ticket holders will be subject to Security search on entry, or on site at any time.

  7. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the event. Proof of age may be requested at the point of entry and at the bars. A Challenge 25 policy will be in place for all alcohol sales on site.

  8. You are not permitted to buy alcohol for anyone under the age of 18.

  9. Gates open at 11:00am on each day of the festival. Tickets cannot be purchased and wristbands for advance tickets cannot be collected after the Ticket Desk closes.
    The festival Ticket Desk will open from 11:00am-9:30pm on August Bank Holiday Saturday and Sunday, and from 11:00am to 7:00pm on August Bank Holiday Monday.
    There is no entry or re-admission to the site after the Ticket Desk closes.

  10. If there are any issues regarding your ticket(s), please contact us before the event. It will not be possible to rectify mistakes on the day of the event.

  11. Any person carrying illegal items or carrying out illegal activity will be reported to the Police and refused entry.

  12. Anti-social, unreasonable or dangerous behaviour may lead to eviction and will not be tolerated. The Festival will refuse admission or eject any such ticket holder without refund, at the sole discretion of the organisers and their Security staff. Please act responsibly

  13. Ticket holders consent to inclusion in official photographic, visual and audio recording of the event for promotional or security purposes.

  14. All those attending the Event do so at their own risk.

  15. No trading is allowed within the venue without the organiser’s prior consent.

  16. The organisers reserve the right to evict any person from the event without refund in reasonable circumstances, and/or to refuse admission if you behave in a manner which has or is likely to affect the enjoyment of others at the event; if you use threatening, abusive or insulting words or mannerisms; if in our reasonable opinion you are acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs; if you fail, when required, to produce proof of identity or age.

  17. You must comply with all instructions given to you by event staff and stewards at all times. Failure to comply or cooperate may lead to you being asked to leave the site and the event without a refund.

  18. We may prosecute you if you cause damage to the Venue, the Venue infrastructure, or cause harm to any other person at the Event and/or Venue.

  19. You may only leave and re-enter the Venue via the main gate.

  20. If before or during the event you have a complaint in relation to the event, please contact the event organisers (in Purple Wokingham Festival branded hi-vis vests) or a member of the Security team promptly, as complaints are very difficult to deal with after the event. If you prefer, you may contact us via our website.

  21. Lost and Found: Please report any lost property to the Ticket Desk (or via our Lost and Found page). Please hand in any found items to the Ticket Desk.
    Unclaimed items handed in to us will be kept for a period of 3 months, and then disposed of.

  22. These T&Cs are subject to change from time to time without notice and at our sole discretion. We will notify you of significant amendments to these T&Cs by email. Final rules to be agreed in conjunction with the licensing committee, police and event organisers.

  23. These T&Cs are governed by English Law, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with these T&Cs shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

3. Refunds

  1. Tickets cannot be refunded under any circumstances other than event cancellation, and will be limited to the price of the ticket at the time it was ordered from our website.

  2. Personal arrangements including, but not limited to, travel, subsistence, and accommodation relating to the event are at your own risk, and we shall not be liable for any losses incurred from personal arrangements or other expenditure.

4. Prohibited Items

  1. All prohibited items must be removed from the site or handed to Security at the gate before entry.

  2. Strictly no alcohol can be brought into the Festival site.

  3. No food or drink can be brought into the Festival site (except water, baby food, or individual lunchbox size of special diet if our traders can’t offer something that you can eat).

  4. No animals are permitted onto the site, with the exception of assistance dogs with accredited training from Assistance Dogs UK member organisations, such as Guide Dogs for the Blind, or Hearing Dogs. (Animals may NOT be left with Security - you must take them home before we can admit you.)

  5. No bicycles, scooters, or similar items may be used on the site (we have an area where you can leave them at your own risk).
    Necessary mobility equipment is permitted.

  6. No glass (including bottles, jars, etc).

  7. No naked flames, including but not restricted to open fires, candles, flares or disposable barbecues.

  8. No weapons, fireworks, smoke canisters, or other similar articles.

  9. No sky lanterns, kites or drones.

  10. No independent sound systems.

  11. No illegal drugs, legal highs or nitrous oxide. We have a zero-tolerance drug policy.

  12. No hi-vis clothing, tabards or jackets (other than those issued to the stewards, for the duration of their shifts).

  13. No tents or high shelters that would block the view of anyone sitting behind you on chairs or picnic rugs.
    (Low, small sun shelters may be permitted in the event of very hot weather, at the sole discretion of the organisers.)

  14. Anyone failing to comply with these conditions or resisting the confiscation of prohibited items will be asked to leave the festival without refund and will be refused readmission.

5. Permitted items

  1. Small bags (which will be searched by event Security).

  2. Pushchairs / buggies.

  3. Portable camping chairs and picnic blankets.

  4. Small “festival” trolleys (which WILL be searched by event Security).

  5. Photographic equipment for personal non-commercial use only.

  6. Refillable water bottles (not glass). If not empty, its contents will be checked by Security.

6. Safety

  1. Wokingham Festival is a family friendly event; we have a zero tolerance policy regarding abuse of any kind. If you experience or witness abuse at the event, please report it to the event organisers (in Purple Wokingham Festival branded hi-vis vests) or to a member of the Security team.

  2. Please bring ear defenders / plugs if you require them. Excessive exposure to loud music may cause permanent hearing damage.

  3. Some performances may include pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting and/or special effects.

  4. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for death or personal injury suffered by you arising out of attendance at the event, unless caused by our negligence.

  5. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage sustained to your property at the event.

  6. Please ensure that you take all your personal property home with you.

  7. Please use the bins provided on the site.

  8. Nothing in these T&Cs seeks to exclude or limit any liability from us regarding death or personal injury caused by Wokingham Festival Ltd’s negligence or fraud.

7. Government Health Guidance

  1. The Event will comply with all guidance issued by the Government in relation to Covid-19 or any other health risk for this event, which may include conditions of entry. We will require your compliance and cooperation with any such requirements.

  2. You must not enter the site if you believe that you may have been infected with Covid-19 or other contagious disease and/or if you are displaying symptoms of any such disease.
