Can I bring in water?
You are very welcome to bring in sealed bottles or cans of water (no glass please). If you bring a refillable container, security on the gate may check it to make sure it IS water.
We’re in the middle of a field, and although we have running water available, it’s not certified drinking water. We do have dispensers available to refill bottles, but we have to carry all drinking water to site by hand, so we appreciate you not using it for anything other than drinking.
Can I bring in soft drinks?
No.
As a not-for-profit festival, we rely on the income from the vendors to help keep the festival running each year. There is a wide supply of drinks available for purchase from our bars and food vendors, so please support them, and ensure Wokingham Festival keeps running for many years to come.
Can I bring in my own alcohol?
No.
As a not-for-profit festival, we rely on the income from the vendors to help keep the festival running each year. There is a wide supply of drinks available for purchase, including Gluten Free beer, so please support the bars and ensure Wokingham Festival keeps running for many years to come.
Can I bring a picnic into the festival?
No.
As a not-for-profit festival we rely on the income from the vendors to help keep the festival running each year. We and our food and drink vendors work hard to ensure that there is a wide supply of delicious food available for purchase, including many special diets, so please support the food stalls and ensure Wokingham Festival keeps running for many years to come. You can find details of the dietary restrictions that our food and bar traders can cater for on our Food and Drink page.
What sort of food and drink is available?
We try to have as wide a variety of food and drink available as we can in a restricted space. Whether you fancy a hot chocolate and cake, world street foods, or a beer and a burger, we aim to have something to suit everybody. We publish details of all our vendors and what they can offer on our Food and Drink page.
Can I get cash out at the festival?
No, we do not have any cash dispensers, and there are none in the immediate vicinity (although there are plenty in town). Our bars and most of the vendors at the festival can take card and contactless payments (details about payment methods accepted are on our Trader and Food and Drink pages), but you might want to bring a bit of cash just in case!
Is the festival under cover?
The festival is located in a big open field, and we have very limited covered areas.
Can I bring my own chair?
Of course! You are very welcome to bring your own chair and/or rug if you wish.
Can I bring my own tent?
No.
To allow everyone to get a good view of the stages, we ask that you don’t bring tents, gazebos or large sunshades with you. In the event of in extremely hot weather, we may permit small, low shade tents, etc. (low enough to see over when seated on the floor behind them), at the sole discretion of the festival organisers.
Can I camp at the festival?
We’re sorry to say that we don't have enough space at the event to be able to offer camping. There are some campsites in the area, about 3-4 miles away from Cantley Park Event Field.
Alternatively, there is a Premier Inn in Wokingham town centre, about a mile from the event field, or Cantley House Hotel next door to the event field, and a number of B&Bs in the local area.
Pets
Can I bring my pet?
No. No animals are not permitted on the festival site, except for registered assistance dogs. It wouldn’t be much fun for them anyway.
Accessibility
If I have a disability is this event suitable for me?
Yes, absolutely. The whole site is accessible, however please note the following:
We have a disabled toilet (the standard portaloo kind, so it's large enough to get a wheelchair into, but depending on your level of mobility, it may be a bit tight if a wheelchair user needs help from a carer to help with transfers onto and off the toilet).
We have reserved parking spaces near the gate for disabled attendees. Please display your blue badge on arrival, and ask our lovely car park stewards to direct you to them when you arrive.
This is an outdoor festival on grass in Cantley Park, so although the area is more-or-less flat, it will have a certain level of unevenness. There are no hard pathways within the arena confines.
I need help to visit the festival. What do I need to do?
We offer a free carer's ticket for those who are registered disabled and who need assistance to attend the festival. To apply, the person requiring assistance should first purchase their own ticket, and then please use our Accessibility form to apply for a free accompanying carer ticket. You’ll find it easiest to download the form, and complete it electronically, save it, and attached the completed copy to an email message, together with the appropriate supporting documentation. The same form can be used by those who need to bring an Assistance Dog.
This is a fillable PDF, so it can be all be completed and saved electronically. Many browsers support this, but you may find it easier to use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software, which you can download from https://www.adobe.com/uk/acrobat/pdf-reader.html if you don't already have a copy of it. Please email it back to us at the address at the top of the form (or reply to your order confirmation for your ticket purchase), together with your supporting documentation, once you have completed it.
If you prefer to send your application by post, our office address is included on the form, but please note that if you send it by post, it does need to reach us at least a week before the start of the festival, as after that time, we’ll be out of the office getting everything set up.
Please purchase your own ticket in the normal way. On receipt of your completed form with your ticket number on it and a copy of your supporting documentation, we will put a relevant note on your order which will be visible to the staff on the Advance Ticketholder gate when you arrive.
Do you offer concessionary tickets?
Sorry no. We think the festival is great value for everybody.
The best way to get discounted tickets, is to buy early. The cheaper it will be, starting with huge discounts on our limited numbers of Super Early Bird tickets.

Taking Part
How can I get involved in Stewarding / Volunteering at the festival?
We are always on the hunt for amazing people to join our team. It takes an awful lot of hard work to run a festival, so whether you’re 16 or 80, take a look at our Volunteer page.
How can I play at the festival?
We love discovering new artists, and whilst we always have many hundreds of applications and won’t be able to accommodate everyone, we would love to hear from you! If you’d like to apply, please complete the artists form - but please note that we do usually have our line-up finalised at least 6 months or more ahead of the festival each year.
I am a trader – how do I apply to trade at the festival?
We try to pack in as wide range of vendors as possible within the arena space, from food and drink to arts and crafts. If you’d like to find out more about becoming a vendor, please enquire via our traders’ form. We normally start considering our traders in around March each year.
Who runs the festival?
The festival is organised and run by Wokingham Festival Ltd, a not-for-profit company. A core team of five Directors all volunteer their time free of charge throughout the year to plan and run the event, and any profits go back into the coffers to fund the event in future years.
We couldn’t do it without the help of a host of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to set up and marshal the event before, during and after the Bank Holiday weekend. If you’d like to find out more about the team behind the festival, you’ll find information about us all at Meet the Team.
